NAITD is funded through a licensing agreement
NAITD is predominantly funded by the use of a three - year renewable licensing
agreement. The agreement also forms part of the terms and conditions of
accreditation, along with the use, promotion and marketing of the symbol. The license is not transferable without NAITD’s written approval. It also
commits businesses to continually strive for higher standards and to apply
ethical work practices. The licensing agreement also aims to offer some
protection to NAITD, consumers and those that have earned accreditation.
Businesses pay fees towards
As with most organisations be they charities, private companies, non profit
groups or government agencies, NAITD requires funds to function. The license
fees contribute towards:
creating awareness and the education of consumers and businesses regarding
this initiative
monitoring the standards provided by approved service providers
assisting with complaint handling, mediation and conflict resolution
protection against misleading or unauthorised use of the trademark
processing applications for accreditation
marketing and the promotion of the program and trademark
administration of NAITD including the licensing of service providers
development and upkeep of a national compiler and data base
What are the costs?
The costs consist of a non – refundable processing fee, an administration and
collective marketing fee plus GST. In labor terms, the costs would equal
approximately a half an hour’s labor per week. In most cases the costs would be
less than placing a very small advertisement hidden among the many, on a weekly
basis in the classified section of a local newspaper.
Size, employees or turnover doesn’t matter
NAITD does not rely on size, number of employees or percentages of turnover, to
fund this initiative. Individual operators, small businesses or companies, are
not disadvantaged by size or turnover, and most can still afford to be part of
the program.
Payment options:
In most cases, payment options are flexible and may be tailored to suit
individual needs.
